Atlas Ocean Voyages has introduced a new way to plan 2026 European expeditions with more confidence, flexibility, and peace of mind: the limited-time Atlas Assurance program. Designed around today’s need for adaptable travel, this guest-focused initiative makes it easier to secure your dream voyage now, knowing your investment is protected if plans change.

What Is Atlas Assurance?
Atlas Assurance is a new program available on select 2026 voyages that puts flexibility at the center of the booking experience. The core promise is simple: Cancel with Confidence. Guests who book eligible 2026 sailings can cancel for any reason up to 15 days prior to departure and receive a Future Cruise Credit (FCC) equal to 100% of the cruise fare paid. Instead of worrying about “what if,” you can plan ahead and still retain full value toward a future voyage if life requires a course correction.
This approach reflects a broader shift in traveler expectations, where clarity, simplicity, and generous policies matter as much as destination and ship design. By making the terms straightforward and guest-friendly, Atlas Assurance removes much of the hesitation that can come with committing to a big trip months in advance.
How the Cancel with Confidence Benefit Works
At the heart of Atlas Assurance is that 100% Future Cruise Credit when you cancel at least 15 days prior to departure. If you need to change plans, your cruise fare is preserved in full as an FCC that can be used on a future Atlas Ocean Voyages sailing. This benefit is valid on new bookings for 2026 Arctic, Mediterranean, and Northern Europe voyages, giving you a wide range of expedition-style itineraries to choose from.
Future Cruise Credits issued under this program can be applied to new bookings within 12 months and used for travel through December 31, 2027. That means you have a full year to rebook and nearly two years of sailing dates to consider, whether you decide to chase the midnight sun in the Arctic or explore the storied coastlines of Europe in another season.

Key Dates, Details, and Exclusions
Atlas Assurance is available for a limited time and applies to new bookings made between April 20 and May 15, 2026, for eligible 2026 departures through August 31, 2026. Payment in full is required prior to cancellation in order to receive the 100% Future Cruise Credit. This ensures that the value of the cruise fare can be fully transferred into an FCC if you decide not to sail.
As with most flexible travel programs, a few items are not included. Government taxes, airfare, travel insurance, and select third-party services are excluded from the Atlas Assurance benefit and continue to follow standard refund policies. Your preferred travel advisor can walk you through what is and is not covered so you have a clear understanding before you book.
Why This Matters for Today’s Traveler
Atlas Assurance was created in response to evolving traveler expectations, where flexibility and transparency are no longer “nice to have”—they are essential. Many travelers want to lock in the best itineraries and accommodations early but hesitate because of uncertainty around future schedules, world events, or personal commitments. By offering a generous and easy-to-understand cancellation policy, Atlas Ocean Voyages aims to remove that friction from the decision-making process.
For guests, this means you can confidently choose that 2026 Arctic expedition, Mediterranean journey, or Northern Europe voyage today, knowing you have options later. For travel advisors, Atlas Assurance becomes a powerful tool, giving them added confidence when recommending Atlas to their most valued clients, since they can offer meaningful flexibility alongside the line’s hallmark small-ship, boutique expedition experience.

A Glimpse at the Atlas Experience
Beyond the policy itself, Atlas Assurance is backed by a brand dedicated to immersive, small-ship exploration. Atlas Ocean Voyages is a luxury expedition cruise line offering year-round exploration aboard its World-class fleet: World Navigator, World Traveller, and World Voyager. These intimate vessels are built to access some of the world’s most remote and compelling destinations while delivering an atmosphere of refined elegance on board.
Guests can expect boutique hospitality at sea paired with deeply engaging adventures ashore, designed to connect travelers with local cultures, communities, and natural environments in meaningful ways. Looking ahead, Atlas Adventurer, an innovative class of luxury expedition sailing yacht, is set to debut in 2028, expanding the brand’s capacity for immersive exploration even further.
Ready to Plan Your 2026 Expedition?
If you have been dreaming about sailing deep into the Arctic, rediscovering the Mediterranean from a fresh, expedition-style perspective, or exploring the historic and cultural riches of Northern Europe, Atlas Assurance creates a more relaxed path to getting those plans on the books. You can secure your preferred itinerary now and keep the freedom to adjust later, without losing the value of your cruise fare.
To review the full list of eligible voyages and explore which 2026 Arctic, Mediterranean, and Northern Europe itineraries may be right for you, speak with your preferred travel advisor. They can help you navigate the details of the Atlas Assurance program, match you with the ideal itinerary and accommodation, and ensure you take full advantage of this limited-time opportunity to book with confidence and flexibility.

There’s a distinct kind of thrill that comes with venturing into the far north—watching the world around you transform from emerald coastlines to snow-draped horizons. An Arctic cruise from Scotland to Spitsbergen isn’t just a voyage—it’s a moving panorama of history, wildlife, and wild seascapes that few travelers ever experience.
The journey traces ancient sea routes that once guided explorers, scientists, and storytellers alike. Today, travelers aboard modern expedition vessels get to experience the same blend of mystery and majesty—crossing shifting latitudes that tell the tale of the North Atlantic’s diverse marine world.
On Quark Expeditions' Scotland to Spitsbergen: Puffins, Sea Ice, and Wildlife voyage, guests witness nature’s gradual transformation—an unfolding narrative of contrasts and wonder.

The Gateway: Scotland’s Wild Northern Coast
Your adventure begins in Scotland, where ancient cliffs meet the restless sea. Seabirds soar above rugged headlands, and puffins nest in colonies that have thrived for centuries. The Scottish isles—Orkney, Shetland, and Fair Isle—form the perfect starting point for the Scotland to Spitsbergen expedition. Each island feels like a world unto itself, with Viking heritage, coastal charm, and sweeping views that stretch endlessly to the horizon.
As the ship sails north, the air turns crisper, and the Atlantic grows deeper and darker. It’s here, far from the bustle of modern life, that travelers begin to feel the pulse of true expedition travel—a rhythm shaped by wind, waves, and the vastness of the open sea.
Across the North Atlantic: Where Worlds Collide
Crossing the North Atlantic is like moving through a living ecosystem in motion. The transition is gradual yet dramatic—kelp forests give way to glacial waters, and the temperature dips with each passing day.
During the voyage, the ocean becomes a gallery of natural wonders. You might spot humpback whales breaching against the backdrop of distant ice, or a pod of orcas shadowing the ship for hours. Seabirds such as fulmars and kittiwakes trace the air currents, often escorting travelers across hundreds of miles of open water.
It’s this encounter between temperate and polar realms that defines a North Atlantic voyage—the way nature’s boundaries blur, creating an experience that feels both powerful and peaceful at once.

The Arrival: Entering the Realm of Sea Ice
By the time your ship approaches the fringes of the Arctic Circle, you’ve entered a new world entirely. The sound of cracking ice replaces the crash of waves, and the air carries a crisp stillness that feels otherworldly. This is the essence of an Arctic sea-ice cruise—the privilege of venturing into regions where few have traveled, where the horizon shimmers in tones of blue and white.
The destination: Spitsbergen, the largest island of the Svalbard archipelago. Here, glaciers spill into fjords, reindeer graze across tundra plains, and polar bears roam the ice. But it’s not just the wildlife that makes this leg unforgettable—it’s the feeling of reaching the edge of the map, where adventure and serenity coexist in perfect harmony.
Stories Carried by the Wind
Each moment of the journey carries its own poetry. The sound of the sea lapping against the hull. The creak of ice shifting under pressure. The distant call of seabirds circling the ship’s wake.
For those aboard a Crossing the North Atlantic on an Arctic route from Scotland, it’s not simply a trip, it’s an experience that connects you with explorers of the past and the fragile beauty of our planet’s wild frontiers. You begin to see the Arctic not as a distant land, but as a living, breathing ecosystem that deserves respect and protection.

A Journey Beyond the Horizon
To sail from Scotland’s wild shores to the icy edge of the Arctic is to understand just how beautifully interconnected our world is. Each wave, each gust of wind, and every encounter with wildlife reminds travelers that exploration isn’t only about distance—it’s about perspective.
This voyage, like the ocean itself, offers moments of silence and revelation. It’s a reminder that the best journeys don’t always have a single destination—they unfold in experiences, impressions, and quiet moments shared between humans and the sea.
Whether you’re chasing the Northern Lights, photographing Arctic wildlife, or simply watching the sun linger on the horizon, the North Atlantic rewards those who venture into its embrace.
